ISO and YouTube Announce $50,000 in New Funding for Indigenous Podcasting - ISO-BEA

Toronto (Tkaronto), September 15, 2025 – The Indigenous Screen Office (ISO) is proud to announce a new partnership with YouTube to enhance the ISO’s 2025–2026 Podcasting Program. Through this collaboration, the ISO will provide an additional $50,000 in funding to program recipients to support the production and distribution of their video podcasts.

As part of the new partnership, successful recipients in the program will have the option to receive additional funding via this partnership, helping to enhance their video podcasts and grow their audience.

“Podcasting has emerged as a powerful platform for Indigenous storytelling,” said Kerry Swanson, Chief Executive Officer of the ISO. “We are excited to partner with YouTube to strengthen the reach of these projects, providing both financial support and new opportunities for Indigenous creators to share their stories with audiences worldwide.”

In addition, YouTube will host a virtual workshop tailored for program recipients, offering guidance on maximizing the platform’s tools to build audiences and increase visibility.

The ISO Podcasting Program supports the development and creation of engaging and original podcasts by Indigenous screen-based and audio storytellers. Applications open on September 15, 2025, and close on October 20, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to review the Podcasting Program Guidelines and apply on the ISO Portal.
