#JusticeForColten Day Of Action: February 9, 2021 #JusticeForColten Day Of Action: February 9, 2021

February 9th, 2021 is the three-year anniversary of the acquittal of Gerald Stanley. This year, it was also the scheduled date of the sentencing hearing for Brayden Bushby, convicted of manslaughter for the murder of Barbara Kentner. The hearing will include victim impact statements from the Kentner family, as well as submissions from the Crown and defense.

The sentencing date has been changed to February 17. We extend our strength and support to Barbara Kentner’s family as they continue to grieve the loss of their family member while also navigating the colonial legal procedures. We continue to mourn the loss of our beloved Colten and will not stop fighting to break down the barriers that the canadian legal systems present to Indigenous peoples and families seeking justice for their loved ones.

Join on FACEBOOK LIVE at this link: @WeWillStandUpfilm between 4:00pm-6:30pm MST for two panel discussions reflecting on the legacy of this date. This is a public event and we encourage anyone to join.
